Former Student Successes in Major Tournaments

Former Student Successes in Major Tournaments

In 2017, Nathan finished 17th in the HNA Open de France after a first round of 66, tied 30th in the Nordea Masters and made the last 32 in the Paul Lawrie Matchplay, Germany.

Our congratulations go to former student Nathan Kimsey, having recently turned professional on his high finish in the Commercial Bank of Qatar Masters Tournament. With rounds of 66, 74,66 and 69 (13 under par) Nathan finished in 9th place which boosted his prize winnings for the year.  This success comes after a good finish in the UBS Hong Kong Open where he also placed.

We wish Nathan every success for what promises to be a very successful year.

Ex Student Wins Major Tournament

Ex Student Wins Major Tournament

English golfer Nathan Kimsey has won the very prestigous Terra Cotta Invitational 2013 championship in the USA.

Nathan is now 27th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings and 8th in Europe. This win will count for a lot with GB&I Walker Cup selectors, as Nathan has proven that he can compete in the USA against the best, compete and win in the USA.

This year has started brilliantly for Nathan – he was sent to Australia with 3 other Elite Squad members by England Golf and was there from 1st January until mid-February, playing in a number of prestigious tournaments. Nathan stood out and in the last 3 competitions, he finished 2nd in all of them!

He played for England in the team event, the European Nations Cup in Spain in March and helped the team to win that and now he has won the Terra Cotta. He will be travelling to Spain, again, next week to represent England in a team event v Spain and he has worked out that since the new year he will have only spent 27 days in the UK up to the end of this month!!

We wish Nathan all the very best in his Walker Cup selection endeavours and I guess he just needs to continue to put in consistent performances in the big amateur events.

The competition is an accumulative 4 round event with the 3 best stableford scores to count each round. Great camaraderie and it all went down to the last putt!! Well done Tom.
